Identification of pyroptosis-related long non-coding RNAs with prognosis and therapy in lung squamous cell carcinoma

Abstract: Pyroptosis is a type of programmed cell death with an intense inflammatory response. Previous studies have shown that pyroptosis plays an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of lung cancer. However, the prognostic value and drug targets of pyroptosis-related lncRNAs in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) have never been studied. In the present study, we identified 1468 pyroptosis-related lncRNAs in LSCC by performing Pearson correlation analysis between the pyroptosis-related genes and the lncRN… Show more

“…These lncRNAs have demonstrated diverse functions in regulating tumor progression, metastasis, and response to therapy, highlighting their potential as prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets in oncology. AC008734.1 has been found to be closely associated with m6A and cellular apoptosis processes, and its high expression level is correlated with poor prognosis in patients with lung squamous cell carcinoma, which is consistent with our analysis results (26, 27). Ye et al discovered that AC087521.1 is associated with poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma (28).…”

“…Currently, accumulating researches have reported the effect of lncRNA as prognostic and diagnostic markers in leukemia ( Garzon et al, 2014 ; Lei et al, 2018 ; Mer et al, 2018 ; Zhu et al, 2021 ). Moreover, several lncRNA recently were found to play roles in the pyroptosis pathway ( He et al, 2020 ; Xu et al, 2020 ; Zhang et al, 2022 ). However, the relationship between pyroptosis-related lncRNA (PRlncRNA) and clinical prognosis in AML is still ambiguous.…”
