Identifying Essential Deubiquitinase Interactions and Targeting Protein Ubiquitination in Cancer
Johannes Gubat
Abstract:Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally and is one of the most pressing health issues today. While significant advances have been made in cancer treatment, drug resistance and toxicity remain formidable obstacles to successful therapy. Thus, there is a need to find novel targets that pave the way for new cancer therapeutics. Ubiquitination, the process of tagging substrate proteins with ubiquitin molecules, regulates many of the pathways that underlie cancer progression. This thesis aims to explor… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
