Abstract: How stereotypical, and hence predictable, are evolutionary and accumulation dynamics? Here we consider processes -- from genome evolution to cancer progression -- involving the irreversible accumulation of binary features (characters), which can be modelled as Markov processes on a hypercubic transition network.
