The present research is about analysis on ungrammatical constructions encountered in the texts written by the 3rd semester undergraduate students of English Language Education Program of Tanjungpura University. The objective of the study is to describe the types of the ungrammatical constructions and the causes of the ungrammatical constructions. The method of research is descriptive. The research participants were 34 students of the 3rd semester undergraduate students of English Language Education Program of Tanjungpura University. The data were collected from corpus written by the students. The ungrammaticalities occurred in the students’ text. They were 496 errors encountered by the students. 312 errors related to phrasal errors and 184 related to clausal errors. The phrasal-related errors affected the area of noun phrase (37%), gerund phrase (13%), verb phrase (17%), infinitive phrase (12), prepositional phrase (12%), adjective phrase (7%), and adverb phrase (2%). The clausal-related errors were alternating form (49%), omission (33%), simple addition (15%), double marking (2) and misplaced subject and verb (1%). The sources of these errors were interlingual (2,9%) and intralingual (97,1%).

We are glad to introduce CLiC-it 2014 (http://clic.humnet.unipi.it), the first edition of the Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics, a new event aiming to establish a reference forum for research on Computational Linguistics of the Italian community. CLiC-it covers all aspects of automatic language understanding, both written and spoken, and targets state-of-art theoretical results, experimental methodologies, technologies, as well as application perspectives, which may contribute to advance the field.CLiC-it 2014 is held in Pisa on December 9-10 2014, and it is co-located with EVALITA-2014 (http://www.evalita.it), the fourth edition of the evaluation campaign of Natural Language Processing and Speech tools for Italian and with the XIII Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (Pisa, 10-12 December 2014, http://aiia2014.di.unipi.it/).Pisa is a special place in the history of Italian Computational Linguistics. Here, Padre Roberto Busa carried out his pioneering research on automatic text processing in the late '60s with Antonio Zampolli, who then founded the Istituto di Linguistica Computazionale of CNR in Pisa, the first research center thoroughly devoted to Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing. The University of Pisa also hosted the first professorship in Computational Linguistics held by Antonio Zampolli until his death in 2003.It is therefore highly symbolic that the Italian community on Computational Linguistics gathers for the first time in Pisa, there where its roots lie. Italian Computational Linguistics has come a long way. Research groups and centers are now spread nationwide and play an active role on the international scene. The large number of researchers that have decided to present their work to CLiC-it is the best proof of the maturity of our community, strongly committed to shape the future of Computational Linguistics.The spirit of CLiC-it is inclusive. <span>The lexicon-grammar approach is a very important linguistic approach in automatic natural language processing (NLP). It allows for the description of the lexicon of the language through readable and intuitive tables for human manual editing. However, the automatic use of the lexicon-grammar tables in the automatic NLP platforms remains difficult, given the incompatibility between the codes used to represent the properties in the lexicon-grammar tables and those used to represent the properties in the automatic NLP platforms. In this work, we present our method of standardizing the lexicon-grammar tables for the French language, since they constitute very rich lexical, syntactic, and semantic linguistic resources. First, we standardize their properties so that they can be compatible with those used in the NLP platforms. Then, to implement the standardized tables, we used a linguistic platform such as NooJ. For that, we describe the process of integrating these tables into this platform through the automatic generation of the dictionaries from these tables. Finally, to test the efficiency of the generated dictionaries, we create for some of them syntactic grammars that take into account all the grammatical, syntactic, and semantic information contained in the dictionaries.</span>
