Abstract:In this chapter, modern methodologies for characterization of tortuosity are thoroughly reviewed. Thereby, 3D microstructure data is considered as the most relevant basis for characterization of all three tortuosity categories, i.e., direct geometric, indirect physics-based and mixed tortuosities.
