image-Based Texture Mapping Method in 3D Face Modeling

Abstract: In this paper, we present an image-based texture mapping algorithm for medical data processing. Different from traditional complex polygon-based texture mapping procedure, this method flattens the 3D surface onto a 2D plane and then uses 2D metamorphosis to find the feature-based positional relationship between the texture image and the flatten image. We use multi-resolution technique to generate the texture image from two orthogonal images without camera calibration. 3D head surface based on medical data is f… Show more

“…In other word, we take only the input images of the left perspective and the middle perspective; c) when α∈(φ,90°), we should insure l i = 0, m i > 0 and r i > m i . With above conclusions, we can introduce the weighting function as equations (1)(2)(3). m i =max(0, cosα).…”

“…Image recognition technology refers to technology using a computer to analyze and understand the information in images, to realize the recognition of targets and objects in various patterns . Currently, so-called image recognition and processing technology is widely used in different fields, such as engineering, , medical science, chemistry, , food industry, environment science, safety investigation, and chemical education experiments. , This work introduces digital photography, image recognition, and processing technology into high school chemistry experiments to realize the “non-contact measurement” of gas volumes to simplify the experimental device and reduce costs. Students can conveniently build the device in the lab or at home.…”

“…Recently, image-based 3D modeling become popular since it is cheaper and easier to use than other traditional methods such as laser scanning. There are already several techniques which can generate image-based 3D model with high precision [1][2][3]. However, texture mapping for 3D model is still a challenging problem.…”
