A 24-year-old male was admitted for syncope and epigastric pain and fever. Biological examination showed leukocytosis and marked eosinophilia, the brain computed tomography (CT) was normal. The echocardiography revealed a voluminous mass in the free wall of the right ventricle compressing the right cavities without communication confirmed with thoracic CT. Hydatid serology was positive. Early and urgent surgery was decided. The postoperative period was uneventful and the patient was discharged home on albendazole. Hydatid cyst is an endemic parasitic infection in cattle-breading countries, and migration has played a significant role to expand this infection worldwide. Cardiac hydatidosis is rare (0.5-2%) in comparison with hydatidosis of the liver (65%) and lung (25%). The right ventricle location is even rarer, 10% versus 60% for the left ventricle, and can cause fatal complications such as anaphylactic shock, dissemination, and pulmonary embolism.

Isolated Cardiac hydatidosis is a rare occurrence [1]. Involvement of left ventricle is more common followed by right ventricle, interventricular septum, left atrium, right atrium and interatrial septum. Here, we present a case report of 26-year-old male patient who was suspected to have left ventricle cystic lesion on 2D-Echocardiography which was confirmed to be Hydatid cyst situated in inter-ventricular septum on Magnetic resonance imaging which is itself a rare phenomenon.

Cystic echinococcosis (hydatid cyst), caused by Echinococcus granulosus, has worldwide distribution and poses a health problem in endemic areas. Embolization of hydatid cysts into the vascular tree is an unusual manifestation of the disease. The hydatid embolism results from spontaneous or traumatic rupture of the cyst, and rare case reports of this kind are not well documented in the literature. We report a case of a hydatid embolism from a ruptured hydatid in a pseudoaneurysm of the thoracic aorta. A 45-year-old woman presented with gangrenous changes of the toes of her right foot. After embolectomy, the histopathology of the embolus was doubtful about its being blood clots around hydatid membranes. Postoperatively, computed tomography (CT) of the chest revealed a pseudoaneurysm of the descending thoracic aorta. Definitive surgery for the pseudoaneurysm was done during a second operation. Numerous hydatid cysts were evacuated from the pseudoaneurysm. This report emphasizes the need for an early diagnosis and treatment of echinococcosis before disabling and life-threatening complications occur.
