Imaging Diagnosis-FDG-Pet/Ct of a Canine Splenic Plasma Cell Tumor

Abstract: An 8-year-old Shih Tzu developed abdominal pain and hyperglobulinemia. A round splenic mass was noted radiographically and sonographically. The patient was evaluated by fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography coupled with computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT). “…In our experience, most cats and dogs can be effectively imaged with an injected dose of 2–5 mCi of 18 FDG and thus the purchase of a single dose of 18 FDG could be split among two patients, taking into account the timing of the scans and the 110 min half‐life of the tracer.
