Imaging system based on a tandem acousto-optical tunable filter for in situ measurements of the high temperature distribution

Abstract: We present, to the best of our knowledge, the first experimental demonstration of a new imaging system for in situ measurement of the two-dimensional (2D) distribution of the surface temperature of microscopic specimens. The main component of the system is an imaging tandem acousto-optical tunable filter (TAOTF) synchronized with a video camera. A set of TAOTF spectroscopic images (up to a few hundreds) is taken by the TAOTF imaging system to fit the measured spectral curves in each pixel to the Planck radiati… Show more

“…[13] shows that the TAOTF system combines reliable spectral imaging with several important features: absence of spatial distortions and chromatic drift; high spectral contrast; and increased signal-to-noise ratio. In the TAOTF imaging system, the image captured by the camera represents a distribution of the intensity irradiated by a specimen at a given wavelength λ controlled by the TAOTF [7].…”

“…When the ultrasonic wave propagates in the crystal, it interacts with the incident light. Bragg diffraction occurs only when the condition of Bragg diffraction is satisfied [11][12][13][14] . In this case, the radio frequency drive signal corresponds to the wavelength of the diffracted light.…”
