Abstract: It is sometimes confusing to distinguish idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) from thrombocytopenia due to dysmegakaryopoiesis, as seen in myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients, especially MDS with isolated thrombocytopenia.
