Immiscible Viscous Fingering: the Effects of Wettability/Capillarity and Scaling

Abstract: Realistic immiscible viscous fingering, showing all of the complex finger structure observed in experiments, has proved to be very difficult to model using direct numerical simulation based on the two phase flow equations in porous media.
