Immittance Response on Carboxymethyl Cellulose Blend with Polyvinyl Alcohol- Doped Ammonium Bromide-Based Biopolymer Electrolyte

Abstract: The blended carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) doped with various compositions of ammonium bromide (NH4Br)-based solid biopolymer electrolytes (SBEs) were prepared by using the casting method. In this present work, CMC/PVA-NH4Br SBE thin film was used to investigate the electrical conductivity via electrical impedance spectroscopy. The maximum conductivity obtained was 3.21 X 10 −4 S cm −1 for sample AB20 at ambient temperature (303 K), and this result might be due to the increased numbe… Show more

“…Upon addition of LiBr above 15 wt. %, it shows a decrease in ionic conductivity, which could be due to the neutral aggregation of the ions reassociated, thus leading to the formation of ion clusters, as reported other researchers [12], [13].…”

“…This phenomenon increased protonation and H + release in the SBEs. The increment of H + increased the charge carrier density and mobility of ions in the system, thereby increasing conductivity [33].…”

“…This is due to the provided more space volume for ion mobility, give a large amount of ions transport number, and enhance the mechanical and thermal properties. Moreover, the blending method can be more valuable because of ease of preparation and can control the properties of polymer electrolytes by changing the composition of the blended polymer [24]. It is also known as low-cost production yet could improve the limitation of polymer electrolytes [25].…”
