Immune Response in Human Pathology: Infections Caused by Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi, and Parasites

Abstract: In the middle of the nineteenth century, it became clear that micro-organisms could cause disease. Effective treatment, however, was not possible at that time; prevention and spread of infectious diseases depended solely on proper hygienic means. At the beginning of the twentieth century, passive and active vaccination procedures were developed against a number of these PATHOGENIC MICRO-ORGANISMS to prevent the diseases in question (rabies, diphtheria, tetanus, etc.). Thanks to the discovery of antimicrobial c… Show more

“…Although specific pathways linking CMV to EOC are unclear, higher expressions of CMV protein in EOC tissue are linked with shorter survival rates compared to those without infection [81]. Pathogenic viral and bacterial infiltration stimulates inflammatory and immunological responses within the host [82]. Thus identification of microbial modulated immune checkpoints could prove most beneficial for early detection during cellular transformation and for more enhanced treatment targeting.…”

“…A stock solution of a concentration of 1 mg/mL in methanol was prepared for the plant extract and Trolox. The working solutions of the following (2,5,10,20,50, and 100 µg/mL) concentrations were prepared by serial dilution with methanol from the stock solution. DPPH was freshly prepared at a concentration of 0.002% w/v.…”

“…In daily life, human beings are exposed to various types of pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. In fact, many types of microbial infections harm human bodies, and in some instances, they can be fatal [ 2 ]. Therefore, pharmaceutical companies are working hard to develop different types of antimicrobial agents to overcome this problem [ 3 ].…”
