C/EBPα may act as a tumor suppressor in the lung, as its overexpression in lung tumor cells results in a dramatic decrease in cell proliferation (Halmos et al , 2002), and it is often downregulated in NSCLC (Halmos et al , 2002; Costa et al , 2007).
