Impact assessment of treating wastewater on the physiochemical variables of environment: a case of Kermanshah wastewater treatment plant in Iran

Abstract: Background: The most critical step to control sewage pollution and recycle of wastewater is to establish sewage treatment plants and to monitor their performance. This research aims to assess the environmental impacts of effluent waters, treated by Kermanshah wastewater treatment plant (KWTP), on some physicochemical variables of the adjacent river named as Qarasou River, northwestern Iran. Several water samples were collected from different locations into KWTP and along the Qarasou River in different time int… Show more

“…It is considered the most stable oxygen compound present in water. In natural resources, the nitrate levels are often low (< 20 mg/l) (Baharvand & Daneshvar, 2019). The discharge of large amounts of wastewater is the most important source of nitrate to surface water more than to groundwater.…”

“…Used in drug delivery systems via controlled release of tetracycline and biocompatible controlled delivery formulations [162] Alginate nanomaterials prepared by Ca 2+ jellification and ionotropic gelation This material can be used for nano-theranostics, nanoremediation and regenerative engineering [163][164][165] recovery (e.g., treatment of mussel processing wastewater in an SBR) [109]. During the settling phase of SBR operation, the washout of non-accumulating microbial cells and removing undesired products (protein or carbohydrates) is achieved, and PHA is recovered as concentrates.…”

“…This is expected to minimize the impact caused by batik waste. Decreasing the concentration of the parameters tested can eliminate negative impacts on the environment such as rivers [19]. The Waste Reduction process with filtration is a simple method that can be used by batik SMEs and at an affordable cost because it only uses daily and easy to find materials.…”
