Impact Damage

Abstract: Composite structures are susceptible to impact damage. Here we discuss the damage of composites subjected to impact with different velocity and energy. We summarize the testing and evaluation methods of impact resistance and damage toleration and conclude the effects of composite fiber structures and material properties on impact damage. Finally, we discuss the theoretical and numerical analyses of impact damage on composites.
