One Nigerian playwright whose brief pilgrimage on earth has been blessed by providence to create enduring and provocative plays about Nigerian situations and who appears prophetic in his writing, is Esiaba Irobi. In a greatly tumultuous tragic play entitled Hangmen Also Die, Irobi in 1989, projected in the play that fragrant abuse and misappropriation of the proceeds of crude oil, the major driver of the nation's economy, by greedy and unconscionable leaders will ostensibly exacerbate poverty and throw the country into Hobbesian state of nature as people struggle to survive by all means Leaning on the theory of prebendalism which Richard [1996] used to describe the nature of Nigerian politics where 'state offices are regarded as prebends that can be appropriated by officeholders, who use them to generate material benefits for themselves and their constituents and kin groups", the paper attempts to dissect Hangmen Also Die, through close reading to demonstrate that the current state of anomie faced by many Nigerians in the twenty first century,parallels the actions and utterances of the characters in the play. Because insecurity, kidnapping, youth restiveness and all kinds of oddities dramatised in the play, have continued to cause Nigerians to gasp for breath daily in an environment where human lives are no longer sacrosanct as life appears to be lived on the crest of the waves owing to horrendous terrorist attacks and mass killing of ordinary Nigerians.

At present, the progress of business model stages supported by a variety of technology categories may unclear, and the integration of technology application and business model innovation (BMI) is hard due to operational practices in various industries and research areas, which block the view of the integration of smart city technology (SCT) and BMI for further development. Thus, this paper aims to explore the current research on the integration of SCT and BMI and identify the current research status and hotspots, assisting in indicating the status of these technologies in the business model stages in order to determine future trends, and adopts a mixed research methodology including a macro-quantitative method based on bibliometrics and a micro-qualitative method using content analysis. The results reveal a 17-year (2007 to 2023) integration of SCT and BMI enhanced by cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence in recent years, with the most current studies focusing on the ideation and design stages of the business model stages with an emphasis on using digital capabilities to refine, formulate, and design the corresponding business model while defining the strategy through internal and external factors. Interestingly, Industry 4.0 and digital servitization are currently the key trends.

This study investigated the moderation role of effective communication in handling crises in multinational businesses as an innovation tool. The study utilized a sample of 315 participants from different public limited companies in Greece. The results showed that proactive crisis communication approaches have a positive influence on crisis handling in multinational businesses. It was revealed that there is a significant relationship between reactive crisis communication techniques and crisis handling in multinational businesses. In order for innovation to be successful, the commercial benefits must be effectively communicated. However, the innovation process requires different strategies of communication to be effective. Businesses that are aware of the many elements of the innovation process may concentrate their communication efforts for the best results in organisational innovation. Concept development and mobilisation, idea screening and advocacy, and idea testing are all stages where effective communication is crucial. Organizations must take into account the different trends of innovation when addressing crises in multinational businesses. Communication in businesses ought to be based on new innovative ideas. Additionally, fostering a culture of openness and cooperation can help with communication at all stages of the innovation process.
