Abstract: Background Fluoroquinolones (FQ) are associated with adverse effects and increasing resistance. However, uncomplicated cystitis remains a frequent reason for FQ use. Selective reporting involves withholding susceptibilities for select antimicrobial agents on microbiology reports, in hopes of dissuading use by providers.
