“…From the observation, the photo-response of the graphene-based device shows a larger QE curve. The response of the solar cells to the incident solar radiation is an indication that photons in the ultraviolet and visible spectrum are absorbed and successfully converted into electrons, which is a critical feature of high-performance OHP devices [ 23 , [37] , [38] , [39] ]. The tables with the comprehensive results, including V oc , J sc , FF, and PCE, for the simulated cells are included in the Supplementary Data.…”

“…SCAPS-1D was chosen to emulate the OHP devices because it has an easy-to-use operating window and, once all parameters are set, operates exactly like the real-life solar cell counterpart. With this method, the energy band gap and other performance parameters of a solar cell, such as the power conversion efficiency (PCE), fill factor (FF), short-circuit current density ( J sc ), and open-circuit voltage ( V oc ), can be easily predicted by solving these three basic semiconductor equations (Equations (1) , (2) , (3) )) [ 23 ]: where and are the ionized donor/acceptor doping concentrations, respectively. The hole and electron mobility are denoted as μ p and μ n respectively.…”

“…The rate of energy consumption is on the rise daily as a result of high energy demand due to increase in global population. About 80 % of energy consumed globally is supplied by fossil fuel which causes environmental issues which necessitated the advancement of renewable energy usage [ 1 ]. The solar energy is considered as the most prominent and significant because of its abundant, clean and inexhaustible nature which makes it the most promising candidate among all sources of renewable energy.…”

“…Due to the enormous energy demand brought on by the growing world population, energy consumption is increasing at fast rate every day. Fossil fuels provide about 80% of the world’s energy requirements 1 , which have negative environmental effects and have forced the development of renewable energy sources 2 . Because of its abundant, clean, and limitless nature, solar energy is regarded as the most major and significant source of renewable energy 3 , making it the most promising contender because of its affordability and sustainability 4 .…”
