Impact of Industry 4.0 on Labor in Industrial Enterprises: Insights from Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam

Abstract

Thai Nguyen is a Northern midland and mountainous province in Vietnam, with 24.37% of Industrial enterprises making significant contributions to developing the socio-economic in Vietnam. Industry 4.0 has both positive and negative impacts on employees in Thai Nguyen Industrial enterprises. This paper examines the impacts of Industry 4.0 on employees in Industry enterprises by using secondary data during the time period 2013–2020. The results show that in the Industry 4.0, labors in Thai Nguyen’s Industrial enterprises have many new job opportunities, the chance to improve their qualifications, and skills, and improved labor productivity. But, the labors had many challenges such as increasing in inequality between groups of labors at different levels; creating a favorable business environment, and ensuring the harmony of interests for service business models, traditional service.
