Abstract:Based on STIRPAT and panel threshold models, this study empirically tested the impact of Internet development on carbon emissions using panel data of Jiangsu Province from 2007 to 2020. The results showed that the carbon emissions intensity of the Internet development level had a significant promotion effect, while the carbon emissions intensity of technological progress showed a significant inhibition effect, but this inhibition effect is less than the promotion effect brought about by internet development.
