Impact of Ionizing Radiation on the Expression of CDC25A Phosphatase (in vivo)

Abstract: Background and Objective: The cell division cycle 25 (CDC25)is a familyof highly conserved dual-specificity phosphatases that activate cyclin-dependent kinase complexes. These complexes are the main cell cycle regulators. Mammalian cells ,exposure to DNA damaging radiations such as ionizing radiation and ultraviolet light, prevent cell cycle progression by activation of checkpoint pathways and lead to cell death. Methods: In this study, mice were exposed to different doses of ionizing radiation. Their total cel… Show more

“…It serves as a negative regulator of telomerase since it is attached to telomeres in a manner dependent on their length (Table 1). 56 Excessive telomere shortening due to a defect in the function of telomerase or any components of the shelterin activates the DNA damage response (DDR) at chromosome ends by ATM/ATR where DDR system enables the NHEJ, 57 leading to end-to-end chromosomal fusion, increased HR, and genomic instability. On the other hand, activation of DDR system stimulates the tumour Figure 1 Telomere organization and function.…”

“…The blood was placed into the heparin tube for separation of the cell and the plasma. The isolation procedure followed was, with some modifications, as previously described by Kurnia et al, Chua et al, and Mir et al [16][17][18]. The heparinized blood samples were centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 15 minutes.…”

“…5,6 Different mechanisms elucidate the drug resistance and dysregulation of apoptosis, which are strongly associated with therapeutic failure. [7][8][9] Inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs) area group of negative regulators of caspases and cell death. 10,11 Overexpression of IAPs, such as X-linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis (XIAP) and Survivin in many tumors, are directly related to resistance against the apoptosis and subsequently, chemotherapeutics agents.…”
