“…Contraflow cycling is where cycling can occur in both directions along a street that is one-way for motor vehicles. Allowing contraflow cycling on one-way streets can improve the cycling experience as it enables cyclists to utilise quieter roads, reduces the distance and energy required to travel between two points, reduces the route planning necessary to accommodate differences in outward and return journeys (PRESTO, 2010) and increases the connectivity of their routes (Putta and Furth, 2021).
