Impact of ‘RythuBandhu’ Scheme on Farmers: An Evolutionary Study in Telangana State

Abstract: The Government of Telangana launched ‘RythuBandhu’ scheme for farmers on 10th May 2018. The scheme was aimed at relieving farmers of debt burden and protects them from falling into the debt trap.It is a farmer’s welfare programme. Under the scheme, the state Government offered Rs. 4000 per acre per farmer per each crop for the purchase of inputs like seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, labour, etc. The total farming land is 1.42 crore acres and the number of farmers in the state is 58.33 lakhs.
