Abstract:The influence of ultrasound amplitude on nucleation kinetics and properties of the final product of borax decahydrate was investigated. Mechanical mixing in a stirred‐batch crystallizer was performed by a straight‐blade turbine (SBT) to ensure a complete suspension of crystals. The obtained results indicated that continuous sonication affects nucleation kinetics, but also the properties of the final product. An increase of the ultrasound amplitude decreases the metastable zone width which ultimately reflects o… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
