Impacts of photovoltaic power source intermittence on a distribution network

Abstract: <span lang="EN-US">The integration of the photovoltaic (PV) solar systems into distribution networks has brought new challenges to the network planners. One of the most interesting is to prevent the impacts of the PV intermittent character on the steady state system operation conditions. This work is aimed to investigate such effect on voltage performance, conventional generator daily behavior and automatic voltage regulator operation. Simulations were conducted on a 33-bus IEEE radial distribution power… Show more

“…Its effect is dominant when the PV array is operated in the voltage source domain. The value of parallel resistance ( ) depends on the leakage current which is primarily dependent on the fabrication technique used [17]. Accommodating the additional current loss due to the series and parallel elements to the ideal PV cell equation, we get (2) and the model is as shown in the Figure 2. ]…”

“…Due to the high PV deployment in LV networks, reverse power flows could be seen when PV generation exceeds the load demand [2][3][4]. Consequently, a voltage rise along the distribution feeder could be [5][6][7][8][9]. Therefore, it is vital to introduce measures to mitigate these impacts and support high integration of solar PV into the existing LV grids.…”

“…Supposedly, Pandanus Amaryllifolius P-MFC can generate electrical energy by utilizing the microorganism's metabolisms in the rhizosphere. Thru photosynthesis, the plant produces nutrients in an amount that needed for plant growth and extra nutrients that are unutilized will be released into the rhizosphere [8][9][10][11][12]. This is where microbe functions as an oxidizing agent, reducing the organic substrate that is released.…”
