Abstract:Replacing conventional ac transmission lines with superconducting cables provides performance advantages since superconducting cables have lower series inductance and very low ac resistance. However, the very low resistance will also have an impact on the dynamic response of current transformers (CTs) and on the response of protective relays that process their current measurements. Whenever a short circuit occurs on an ac power system the resulting current will have both fundamental frequency ac response and a… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
