Abstract: Soon after the onset of the COVID‐19 pandemic, almost all Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) facilities closed to the public. Resulting cost‐saving and safety measures led some facilities to temporarily cease or reduce animal breeding and/or transfers.
