Implementation of tire Pressure Monitoring System with wireless communication

Abstract: The paper proposes a method to implement Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) in vehicles. TPMS measures the air pressure inside pneumatic tires of automobiles. The proposed TPMS has an electronic unit that directly screws onto the stem of tire. The unit includes a pressure sensor and switch, signal conditioning unit, microcontroller, RF transmitter and long life battery. An onboard RF receiver communicates with the TPMS unit and displays real-time tire pressure of all tires. The unit can be easily detached … Show more

“…TPMS, according to some researchers and manufacturers, is defined as a vehicle's safety device to maintain the vehicle's safety and check the vehicle's condition, especially its tire pressure condition. Hasan et al (2011), in his paper, proposed a method for carrying out TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) tasks on vehicles to measure the air pressure in a pneumatic tire that has an electronic device unit directly attached to a tire valve (Hasan et al, 2011). Fig.…”

“…Achieving and maintaining the correct tire pressure is, thus, of paramount importance [7]. Vehicle users are required to monitor and maintain the tire pressure; the process solely reliant on the accuracy and performance of tire inflators.…”

“…It is seen that the GSC beam patterns in Figure 9 are very similar to the beam pattern of MVDR. Figures 8 and 9 show concurrent beamforming for the front tire and the rear tire directions, because the beam is simultaneously formed at angles of and 360 − in beamformer by means of the array response vector structure with the cosine function given in (2). That is, we need calculating two weight vectors for four tires instead of four weight vectors.…”

“…The TPMS is a system for measuring the temperature and pressure of each tire by means of the installed sensor to transmit the measured data to the central processing unit (CPU) in the vehicle in order to prevent the accident [1][2][3]. The TPMS sensor unit (SU) installed on each tire transmits the data measured in real time to the driver's console to enable the driver to check tire pressure and temperature.…”
