Implementing the assistant practitioner foundation degrees

Abstract: Newham University Hospital NHS Trust in London has successfully introduced the new role of clinical assistant practitioner (CAP) roles within sexual health, medicine, surgery, theatres and intensive care unit. This article explains the process of developing and implementing the role and considers the benefits it produces for healthcare.
