Implikasi Praktik “Hutang Piutang” dalam Amos 2:6-8 bagi Orang Percaya Masa Kini

Abstract

This research covered by discovery of injustice problem on debt-receivables His people in prophet Amos' eras whom debtor oppressed by creditor because they couldn't pay them debt. The debt-receivables practical appearing new problems especially when the bad debt happening. Everyone can involve into debt-receivables practical which is so risky. Therefore, this research searching the implication of debt-receivables practical to believers today. Whether believers today be allowed to involve in debt-receivables' practice? And how the believer's attitude as a creditor and debtor should be? Researchers using the qualitative method with the library research as the type of research and doing exegesis of Amos 2:6-8 then searching the implication to the life of believers today. From the research, we found the problems happened in prophet Amos eras because the debt couldn't pay them debt and the creditor had a materialistic attitude which was tend control even oppressed the debtor. Although debt-receivables practical still we do today but it's not the solution for problem solving because it's so risky and appearing others problem, Bible said that believers should be as creditor. But in their practice, love and justice needed as a main principal. Moreover, the rely on God attitude needed too and having faith until the self-control produced in the life of believers and having a good financial management is importance too so can't snare everyone into debt-receivables problems. Highlighting to the debt-receivables problems in prophet Amos eras and determining the implication into todays are the novelty this research.
