“…Sonodegradation is based on the severe implosion of the cavitation bubbles formed during the sonication of an aqueous solution, which results in a transient pressure and temperature rise (∼5000 K and ∼1000 bar) in the bubbles’ cores [15] , [16] . These severe conditions lead to the formation of nonequilibrium plasma inside the bubbles [17] and cause the water and oxygen molecules inside the bubbles to break and form reactive oxidative species (ROS) such as HO•, that can degrade organic compounds at the interface and to some extent in the bulk solution [15] , [18] .
