Improve Wear Resistance by Nano Composite Electro Less Coating for Low Alloy Steel (Ni-P-Graphene)

Abstract: Several experiments were carried out for the electroless coating process , Sodium hypophosphate with (10 , 14 and 24)g/l were added to achieve low , medium and high phosphorous in electro less coating for low alloy steel , the coating time (45 ,75 and 105)min and use different heat treatment temperatures (200,300 and 400)°∁ . Wear resistance was tested by ASTM G99 to evaluate the best result of creating a nano composite coating, in order to add Nano graphene , the graphene was added by (0.1 , 0.3 , 0.5 and 0.7… Show more

“…The prepared nickel–phosphorus coating exhibits good resistance to wear and corrosion. Simultaneously, it can further introduce various functional particles, such as SiC, Al 2 O 3 , PTFE, MoS 2 , and others, to co-deposit with the nickel–phosphorus alloy to form a composite coating, endowing the coating with special properties, such as super hardness and self-lubrication [ 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 ]. Among them are soft nano-PTFE particles, which have a considerably low dynamic friction coefficient [ 16 , 17 , 18 ].…”
