Improved Adaptive Backstepping Approach on STATCOM Controller of Nonlinear Power Systems

Abstract: This paper proposes an improved backstepping control approach which uses errorcompensation and the sliding mode variable structure control to achieve stability for a single machine infinite bus system (SMIBS) with a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM).
