This paper proposes a new PWM technique for a reduced-component-count active impedance network (RCC-AIN) three-level inverter to maximize the input/output (I/O) voltage gain. Although the max boost control (MBC) technique offers the same I/O voltage gain, it suffers from the drawback of lowfrequency (LF) ripples of the source current. In contrast, the proposed PWM technique is a combination of improved MBC (IMBC) and a new switching state pattern that eliminates this drawback and offers up to 79% reduction in the peak-to-peak ripple value of the source current while maintaining the same I/O voltage gain as MBC. The cumulative sum of ripple components is used to find the exact maximum and minimum peaks of the source current over the fundamental period. The proposed switching pattern doubles the switching frequency of a boosting switch to limit the current spikes of capacitors during state changeover. The RCC-AIN topology was analyzed in various voltage-boosting techniques, and the proposed PWM technique utilizes the full potential of the RCC-AIN topology in a better way. The findings have been verified using theoretical calculations, simulation, and experimental results.

The quasi-Z-source T-type inverter is a new type of three-level inverter. Compared with other three-level inverters, the quasi-z-source T-type inverter is characterized by its fault tolerance capability and boost capability. In the inverter, the modulation strategy greatly affects the performance. Aiming at the problems in three-level inverters such as excessive common-mode voltage and unbalanced neutral point potential, a space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) for a quasi-z-source T-type three-level inverter based via line voltage coordinate is proposed in this paper. The main research work and achievements of this paper include: (1) based on the existing research results, an SVPWM modulation strategy for the quasi-Z-source T-type inverter is proposed. The modulation method proposed by this paper can effectively reduce the common-mode voltage and balance the neutral point voltage. (2) This paper analyzes the principle of the line voltage coordinate system and makes some modifications to the line voltage coordinate system so that the proposed modulation scheme can be applied to the line voltage coordinate system. Compared with the traditional αβ coordinate system, the SVPWM algorithm in the line voltage coordinate system has the characteristic of simple calculation. The simulation and experiment results show that the control method has good performance under the conditions of dynamic response and imbalance.

Photovoltaic (PV) inverters have been widely used in solar energy to change the direct current (DC) voltage of PV panels to the grid alternating current (AC) voltage. They are comprised of DC-DC section for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and DC-AC part to provide required output AC voltage. This paper provides a unique configuration that integrates both sections in one part. A Z-source multilevel inverter is proposed based on Z-source networks and reversing voltage (RV) multilevel inverter. The Z-source network can be used to increase the level of the input voltages and MPPT as well. In addition, the prop used topology uses multilevel topology to accommodate more DC inputs and benefit from features of multilevel level inverters in AC output. Moreover, using Z-source network can minimize equated monthly installment (EMI) due to the lower stress on the semiconductor switches. Finally, a seven level topology is designed and simulated to show the performance of proposed topology.
