Abstract: With over 3,000 reported structures, monoterpenoid indole alkaloids (MIAs) constitute one of the largest alkaloid groups in nature, including the clinically important anticancer drug vinblastine and its semi-synthetic derivatives from Catharanthus roseus (Madagascar’s periwinkle).
