Improved solar system with maximum power point tracking

Abstract: This study presents an improved solar system with maximum power point tracking (MPPT). A digital signal processor is used to control the converter with the proposed control; thus, the system can implement MPPT independently for each solar panel whether it is under shading, various irradiation conditions or with faulty solar cells. A modified MPPT method is designed to reduce the power oscillation significantly, thus the power loss is reduced. With the proposed scheme, most of the solar panel available output p… Show more

“…To optimise energy production under these conditions, many authors have proposed to implement distributed MPPT (DMPPT) by dividing the PV array into sub-sections [27,28]. In this respect, module-level DMPPT is becoming attractive, and it can be enabled thanks to the employment of microinverters [29,30] or module-integrated dc-dc converters [31][32][33]. Some works investigated also subpanel [34] and cell-level DMPPT, but the inherent cost and complexity hardly make it as viable option for commercial applications in a near future [26].…”

“…A PV‐SP (Hua et.al, 2018), (Shanmugam et.al, 2018), (Tewari and Sreedevi 2018), (Belarbi et.al, 2018) absorbs the sunbeam and transmutes it into electrical energy so that it can well be utilized for diverse applications. The PV module is packaged with an array of solar cells.…”
