Abstract:This paper discusses a target tracking system that provides improved estimates of target states using target orientation information in addition to standard kinematic measurements. The objective is to improve state estimation of highly maneuverable targets with noisy kinematic measurements. One limiting factor in obtaining accurate state estimates of highly maneuvering targets is the high level of uncertainty in velocity and acceleration. The target orientation information is helpful in alleviating this proble… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
