“…One important finding from the present study is that men who have higher EHS are more likely to have higher frequency of sexual activities and higher sexual confidence. Similarly, previous studies from Western countries reported that erection hardness was directly associated with improvement in outcomes, including intercourse enjoyment, sexual satisfaction (i.e., frequency of satisfactory intercourse and satisfaction with sex life and sexual relationship), emotional well‐being (i.e., self‐esteem, personal relationships, confidence in erectile function, and confidence overall) and satisfaction with their ED treatment . Although causality is difficult to determine, an implication from our result could be that men who improve their erection hardness through medical intervention, such as use of PDE5 inhibitors, are more likely to become sexually active and confident than men without treatment.…”

“…The Quality of Erection Questionnaire (QEQ) is a new patient-derived measure to evaluate satisfaction with the quality of erections in terms of hardness, onset, and duration, and to assess the effect of ED treatment [18,40]. The QEQ consists of six items that yield a total summary score, which may be transformed into a 0-100 scale.…”

“…The erectile function (EF) domain of the IIEF (questions 1-5 and 15) elicits a man's assessment of his ability to achieve and maintain an erection hard enough for penetration and completion of intercourse over the course of the preceding 4 weeks. The IIEF-EF domain score can be used to determine ED severity: severe ED (Յ10), moderate ED (11)(12)(13)(14)(15)(16), mild to moderate ED (17)(18)(19)(20)(21), mild ED (22)(23)(24)(25), and no ED (Ն26) [34,35]. A clinically meaningful change in the IIEF-EF domain score is represented by a 1-point change per question or 6-point change over the domain.…”
