Improvement of Delegated Proof of Stake Consensus Mechanism Based on Vague Set and Node Impact Factor

Abstract: The Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism uses the power of stakeholders to not only vote in a fair and democratic way to solve a consensus problem, but also reduce resource waste to a certain extent. However, the fixed number of member nodes and single voting type will affect the security of the whole system. In order to reduce the negative impact of the above problems, a new consensus algorithm based on vague set and node impact factors is proposed. We first use fuzzy values to calculate the ra… Show more

“…Whereas proof of work relies on computing power to determine which nodes verify transactions and create a new block on the blockchain, proof of stake allows users of the chain's native digital asset to determine which nodes update the chain by staking their tokens with nodes [57][58][59][60][61]. This reduces the computational power and thereby the energy required.…”

“…Compared to PoW and PoS, the DPoS algorithm reduces the waiting time required for transaction verification and increases the block generation rate by electing representative nodes to generate blocks [ 23 , 24 ]. Some researchers have proposed improved methods for DPoS [ 25 , 26 , 27 ]. Currently, it has been used in digital currency, supply chain management, the Internet of Things and other fields.…”
