Improvement of Live Birth Rate Following Frozen-Thawed Blastocyst Transfer by Combination of Prednisolone Administration and Stimulation of Endometrium Embryo Transfer

Abstract: The endometrial condition is a significant factor for successful pregnancy. To regulate endometrial function in fertility treatment, prednisolone (PSL) is administered for suppression of increased natural killer cells and stimulation of endometrium embryo transfer (SEET) to enhance communication between embryo and maternal tissues. We attempted to improve the endometrial condition by PSL administration and SEET during frozen-thawed blastocyst transfer (FBT). Patients took PSL (5 mg) 3 times daily for 3 days af… Show more

“…Moreover, patients took a 5 mg prednisolone tablet (Towa Pharmaceutical Co., Osaka, Japan) three times daily for 3 days after ovulation. The dosage of prednisolone was set at 15 mg/day based on a previous study [ 19 ]. Stimulation of the endometrium for embryo transfer [ 25 ] was performed 2 or 3 days before FBT.…”

“…To verify that this higher intra-cohort (i.e., between siblings) similarity is not an artifact due to the random selection of embryos, we compared intraversus inter-cohort similarity in the morphokinetic profiles of embryos with similar morphological qualities. We considered the manually annotated Gardner and Schoolcraft alphanumeric quality scoring scheme as a proxy for embryo morphological-based quality, which is based on the assessment of three parameters: blastocyst expansion status, morphology of the inner cell mass (ICM), and morphology of the trophectoderm (TE) [31,32] (Fig. 1H).…”

“…After a year, Gizzo as a defender of aspirin administration takes success less of such researches into account as lack of suitable protocol (41); but even in his research, numbers of good-quality embryos were decreased in group of low dose aspirin administration. Another research (42) announced that inhibition of NKs -with aspirin or prednisolone -results…”
