City dashboards present information about a city to a broad audience with some thought given as to how some of these audiences might understand the information. However, little research has looked at how 'citizens' make sense of dashboards. Using two sample dashboards, we asked community activists from four different areas (Health, Environment, Transport and Agriculture) to explore the information displayed. Using grounded theory approaches, we looked at factors which support or hinder users sense-making. From further analysis of the data we identify four key challenges that need to be addressed to support users making sense of city dashboards: lack of support given for understanding the information and data presented, lack of possibilities for users to engage, lack of purpose, and a lack of governance. We recommend a series of design and development actions for city dashboards creators for each challenge area. The desire to give access to open data through dashboards requires a considerable investment of time and resourcesan investment that is wasted if dashboards are not useful to their users (citizens) and, as a result, are not used.

Public transport is recognized as a more environmentally friendly mode of transport than cars for the same number of passengers. Many countries are investing heavily in public transport to make it not only greener, but also more convenient, more attractive, faster, more competitive and more accessible. In order to promote a sustainable environment, private, public and non-motorized transport must functionally complement each other to form balanced integrated systems. There are currently two main forms of organizing public transport: a government-oriented service and a market-oriented service. Positive changes in the field of public transport are possible if in the process involves not only state and municipal institutions, but also infrastructure planners, passenger carriers and inhabitants. Public transport must be seen as a means of developing cities and regions. The aim of the article is to analyze the existing models of public transport organization and management, to compare them and submit a proposal, on the basis of which management model it would be possible to submit proposals for the improvement of the organization of Lithuanian public transport. Good foreign countries practice in the management and organization of public transport shows that in some countries public transport is already organized not by individual municipalities but by regions. Based on the achievements of foreign countries, municipalities are recommended to cooperate and share experience in creating a common public transport network. It is necessary to create a management scheme in Lithuania for the development of public transport services, which at the same time would reduce public costs.

In COVID-19 outbreak both the therapeutic benefit of slow economic activity on the skies and the planet, as well as the horrendous sufferings of our fellow countrymen emerged. They strike many people miserably sedated and anxious to do something to secure the future. The civil aviation is one of the worst hit sectors affected by coronavirus-induced lockdowns; revenue generation has been lowered as traffic demand has been halted in both domestic and international sectors, sending a strong signal that there is a need for a sustainability strategy. This chapter focuses on how the Triple Bottom Line approach can help the aviation sector in achieving sustainability even in times of pandemic. The TBL approach has three dimensions- people, planet and performance through which success of the business has been measured. For companies that are wary of valuing social/ environmental sustainability equally with economic efficiency, Southwest Airlines is the perfect example. The critical point is that the COVID-19 crisis has provided some complex perspectives that can encourage to rebuild sustainably. The focus should be on rewarding creation of value rather than extraction of value, through promoting sustainable growth in innovation and reducing the carbon footprint. The airlines need to take help from analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to meet customer expectations that are transformed after pandemic. Waiving, adjust and cancel fees and allowing convenient rebooking would help boost brand perception, feedback of customers and eliminate any confusion for those who wish to book future travel.
