Improvements in photostability and sensing properties of EuVO4 nanoparticles by microwave-assisted sol–gel route for detection of H2O2 vapors

Abstract: The inorganic thin-film fluorescence probe, with the advantages of long life span and high sensitivity, has attracted much attention in explosive detection. The poor ultraviolet absorption and lack of an aromatic ring make peroxide-based explosives very hard to detect. As the signature compound of peroxide-based explosives, H 2 O 2 vapor detection became more and more important. Rareearth-doped vanadate is considered to be a suitable material for the detection of hydrogen peroxide due to the quenching of its f… Show more

“…Semiconductor materials such as ZnS, TiO 2 , WO 3 , and CdS are promising candidates for the degradation of contaminated environments via photocatalytic reactions [25,26]. For example, transition metal-based orthovanadates (MVO 4 ) such as PrVO 4 have the potential to be applied in several fields, including the gas-sensor, solar-cell, catalyst, photoluminescent, and photocatalyst fields [27,28,29,30,31].…”
