Improving accessibility of the Australian My Health Records while preserving privacy and security of the system

Abstract: Australian My Health Record (MyHR) is a significant development in empowering patients, allowing them to access their summarised health information themselves and to share the information with all health care providers involved in their care. Consequently, the MyHR system must enable efficient availability of meaningful, accurate, and complete data to assist an improved clinical administration of a patient. However, while enabling this, protecting data privacy and ensuring security in the MyHR system has becom… Show more

“…To ensure the security of information, PHRs should use a single sign-on mechanism [ 70 ], user authentication [ 26 , 33 , 64 , 72 , 73 , 112 , 117 ], authorization [ 42 , 112 ], identity verification [ 34 , 63 ], encryption [ 25 , 33 , 112 , 118 ] or pseudonymization [ 114 ], backup mechanism [ 25 , 33 , 72 ], and firewalls [ 72 ]. PHRs can also implement an access log so that users can see who viewed and downloaded information [ 76 ].…”

“…PHRs contain personal and sensitive data [47,77,108,[112][113][114]. Some people have concerns about storing these data online [54,103,108,113,115] and consent to use the system [116].…”

“…The naïve Bayes classifier and CNN algorithms identify the system faults in a wireless sensor network to improve the power and convergence performance [5]. The CNN technique achieves better performance when compared to other techniques [13]. Generally, a fault can happen to a physical layer device, as shown up underneath Figure 1.…”

“…Some of the existing review papers focused on either the privacy of the cloud or the security of the cloud, but not both. There were few examples of research papers that considered reviewing security and privacy at the same time within the health sector such as [126][127][128][129][130][131][132]. In this paper we reviewed most of the recent studies in both security and privacy areas.…”
