Improving grid connected hybrid generation system supervision with sensorless control

Abstract: In this paper, speed identification and control problems are simultaneously considered for a micro-grid power generation system (MG-PGS). To eliminate mechanical sensors, an observer has been designed to identify the speed of a wind energy conversion system based on a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). The proposed observer is an adaptive interconnected structure with online parametric estimation. Moreover, a new control based on the Lyapunov theory has been developed in order to improve sensorless c… Show more

“…Te sensorless control applied to the MG-PGS improves the performance of the global control. Te PMSM mechanical speed, stator resistance, and inductance could be estimated precisely, and the dynamical property of the system is obviously improved [58]. Due to the low counter electromotive force of the PMSM, the high-frequency signal injection method is used to achieve a more accurate position estimation efect at zero speed and low speed.…”

“…In this mode, the RPG is used to supply loads, for example the electrification of isolated sites which are difficult to supply by the main electrical network . Another mode of operation of the AG is the grid connected mode . In this operation mode, the RPG is not considered as an energy source only; it also contributes to participate in the system service.…”

Among them: participating in the grid frequency and voltage settings, minimizing harmonics, compensating reagents, and also improving the power factor.…”
