“…As the different sources are interconnected through DC/DC converters, the EMS has to be realized via these converters. During the last two decades, intensive studies have been carried out to develop more compact, more efficient and more targeted DC/DC converter topologies and control methods [10,13,98,101,102].…”

“…A quintessential example was described by Motapon et al who introduced the frequency decoupling and FLC, which ensures the primary power source to afford the load demands in low frequency; meanwhile, the auxiliary power sources respond for load demands in high frequency part to prolong fuel cell lifetime by reducing the dynamics stress on PEM fuel cell system. An EMS with Lure‐Postnikov–type Lyapunov function implemented in cascade mode was employed to manage hybrid power system composed of a fuel cell and an ultracapacitor, and the stack lifetime was increased by determining fuel cell system taking care of nominal load bus demands while ultracapacitor responds to a transient part. A fuzzy EMS based on lifetime extending proposes a lifetime function of temperature for predicting the lifetime and selecting the basis of rules …”

“…Ou et al [14] applied a smart damping controller for the static synchronous compensator to reduce the power fluctuations and damping in a hybrid energy microgrid. Mane et al [15] proposed an improved Lyapunov controller operated in cascade mode to control a hybrid energy microgrid of fuel and an ultracapacitor. Bahrami et al [16] modified the traditional demand response programs for multiple energy carriers to transfer into an energy center.…”
