“…These studies showed that the risk of death within 180 days is over twice as high following abortion compared to delivery, and this risk remains elevated for at least ten years (Deneux-Tharaux et al 2005). The risk of death in a given year for a woman who was not pregnant was 57/100,000 women, but after an abortion, the risk was 83/100,000, after miscarriage 52/100,000, and for those who carried a pregnancy to term 28/100,000 (Studnicki et al 2017).
