Abstract:Abstract. While there is growing interest in in-line measurements of paper making processes, the factory environment often restricts the acquisition of images. The in-line imaging of pulp suspension is often difficult due to constraints to camera and light positioning, resulting in images with uneven illumination and motion blur. This article presents an algorithm for segmenting fibers from suspension images and studies the performance of Wiener filtering in improving the sub-optimal images. Methods are present… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
