Abstract:Previous works have demonstrated that the Fourier fundamental mode coefficient (FFMC) is a potential fission source convergence indicator for Monte Carlo k-eigenvalue calculations. Unlike the conventional Shannon entropy indicator, it requires no spatial meshing, and its computation is computationally inexpensive. However, we found that FFMC is less sensitive to the convergence involving near symmetrical fission distributions. To rectify the problem, we focus on the analysis of the FFMC’s components (the real … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
