Improving the Photoelectric Conversion Efficiency of Cs2TiBr6-Based Perovskite Solar Cells Using a Theoretical Simulation Method

TingFeng Wang,
Shuang Li,
Hong-En Wang

Abstract: While lead-based perovskites stand out as a highly promising material for solar cells, there remains a notable concern related to the possibility of lead leakage. This study utilized the solar cell simulation software SCAPS-1D to explore strategies for enhancing the efficiency of lead-free perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and to elucidate the corresponding theoretical mechanisms. A model of the n–i–p FTO/TiO2/Cs2TiBr6/P3HT/Au structure was developed. Employing various modification strategies in experimental setup… Show more

“…The continuous use of fossil fuel produces significant amounts of environmentally harmful gases such as SO x , NO x , and CO 2 that lead to a gradual increase of global temperature . Moreover, within 200 years, most of them may be completely depleted. The impending depletion of natural resources and their undesirable impact on the environment have encouraged many researchers and scientists to focus on an alternative energy source that should be reliable, cost-effective, abundant in nature, renewable, and environmentally friendly. For the last few decades, the use of several renewable energy sources like hydropower, tidal energy, wind energy, solar energy, biomass-derived fuels, and geothermal energy has been attempted. Among all these, the solar irradiation-based dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) has become the most prominent one. One of the recent studies estimated that if 0.2% of the Earth’s surface is covered with DSSCs having an efficiency of 5%, the world’s overall power demands will be fulfilled …”
